What are the benefits of installing an irrigation system?
If you have turf or plantings that need irrigation, an automated system will save you time and money. Even the strictest manual watering cannot deliver the efficiency of an automated system. Also, if your property is larger or has a variety of plants or shrubs with different water requirements, manual watering can quickly become an all day affair. We have always maintained that an irrigation system is the best way to protect and care for the investment you have made in your property. It is also an excellent way to increase the value of your property should you choose to sell it. If you are interested in a system, we strongly recommend using a smart irrigation controller. How much damage will be done to my lawn?
There will be minimal disruption to your landscape. We use a vibratory plow to place the pipe in your lawn. We restore to grade which includes seeding. We ask that you allow 2 to 3 weeks for your lawn to restore itself to its natural beauty.
Is it dangerous to have electrical components exposed to weather elements?
The electricity needed to operate an Aqua Turf Sprinkler System is low voltage (24 Volts). This voltage is below the National Electric Code for permitting and can be wired live by hand by our technicians. All electrical components meet stringent requirements for direct burial.
Will my water bill rise considerably?
This is a two part answer
First, hand watering usually results in a visual saturation level, which in most cases is excessive. With an automatic sprinkler system and rain sensor in place, your lawn will be properly watered at an optimal rate. Watering intervals can be adjusted for efficiency and the rain sensor will disable the system during periods of rain.
Secondly, If you are not doing any watering at all there will be a noticeable increase. This will fluctuate from property to property depending on your personal water rates and the size of your lawn. With a well designed system from Aqua Turf our natural resource will be managed both efficiently and effectively.
What type of maintenance is needed?
Aqua Turf offers many maintenance programs which can be designed specifically for your system. The minimum maintenance required is the winterization of your system. This provides you with a professional technician to purge your system removing all water left in your pipes and help protect your heads, valves, and piping from serious damage due to freezing in cold weather.
We do suggest that you also use the spring start up that we offer which provides you with a professional technician to start your system correctly which will enable us to make any adjustments needed to optimize water application, troubleshoot any damage that may have been caused such as shifting heads or valves due to weather changes, lawn maintenance, and plant material growth.
Will there be any damage to my driveway?
Wherever possible, your hard-scapes will be tunneled under or avoided. However if a driveway or walkway must be crossed, it will either be bored under or saw-cut then repaired by our installers. Individual details regarding your property will be thoroughly discussed at the time of your estimate.
What are my payment options?
Aqua Turf accepts VISA, Discover, or Mastercard. We do not accept American Express. Additionally, we require a 50% deposit which allows us to purchase materials and schedule the installation. The balance of the payment is due only after you are completely satisfied with the work performed by us.
Is the operation of the controller user friendly?
Aqua Turfs criteria for choosing the right controller is based on two key points.
1.The controller fits the requirements to maintain a healthy lush lawn for your home.
2.The technology is at a comfortable level for you.
We perform a demonstration of both the system and controller at the completion of the install to ensure you are comfortable and knowledgeable with its use.
